Lesotho Integrated Transport

Development of a mapping with the participation of the local community and the use of GIS. The GIS allowed to detect information on available transportation services, access to clinics, schools and other services, and how women, men, children and the elderly used existing roads, roads and services.
• community consultations and interviews with focus groups that made it possible to detect different priorities of women and men regarding the project, e.g. In one town, women preferred that the road be built to facilitate connection with another town to access social services, while men preferred that the road connect a larger city in another direction so that they could more easily access local markets.
