The project aims to provide improved all-season access within agriculturally productive zones and improve living conditions and quality of life for the participating communities. This project received funds from Gender Action Plan to formulate a gender-responsive project and develop capacity of the implementing agency. Workshops will be conducted to understand women’s constraints and opportunities for participation.

The Road Reconstruction and Improvement Project in Honduras incorporated a Gender Action Plan including:

- Target of 10% of women employed in maintenance microenterprises;

- Campaign for contractors on gender issues in the workplace;

- 5-month literacy course for personnel employed in microenterprises.

- Risk mitigation plan (HIV / AIDS).
